A Vintage Spring

Hello friends!  Hop on over to the Glue Arts blog where we're celebrating Spring!  Kristen and I are sharing some home decor pieces.  Mine is a star pillow, all dressed up in vintage.  I've added some Graphic 45 Butterflies from "The Olde Curiosity Shoppe" collection.  I used some un-traditional Spring colors for my project so I can keep it out year around.

Glue Arts and Holiday Style by October Afternoon

Afternoon Holiday Style Artful Kit
This Artful kit was created inside an upcycled projector slide box.
Supplies:
Glue Glider Pro, Perma Tac, Ribbon Adhesive, Glue Gun and Glue Sticks (Glue Arts)
Afternoon Holiday Style Kit (October Afternoon)
Aqua Seam Binding, Baker's Twine (Really Reasonable Ribbon)
Mini Boxes (from an advent calendar kit) Metal Handle (Hobby Lobby)
Test Tubes (Good Will)
Pearl beads, buttons and straight pins. Clam Shell box.

Glue Arts and Webster's Pages

Hello friends!  Today Glue Arts and Webster's Pages are teaming up!  I did a couple projects with the Webster's pages line, "All About Me".  Don't you love the soft color palette and the shabby chic feel?  The first project started as a house (by Doodlebug Designs) and ended up a Birdhouse on a spool.  I got the 4" vintage spool at an antique shoppe and it seemed to work well with the size of the house.
The second project is a double pane frame and was made for our Design Team Coordinator, Julia.  This is a picture of her and her hubby on vacation!  Check out the Glue Arts blog for some fun projects!

Instructions for the Birdhouse:

1.) Start with All About Me papers and house template.

2.) Mist the house with Caribbean Glimmer Mist.

3.) Cover the house per the instructions.
4.) Use Hula Hoop and Caribbean Glimmer Mist and mist the skewer.

5.) Hot glue one end of the red and white twine, spin on the skewer and hot glue the other end.

7.) Poke a hole through the center top of the house and insert skewer.
8.) Using Perma Tac, cover a 4" vintage spool.

9.) Insert skewer into spool and hot glue.


10.) Add cardstock stickers to the door.

11.) Cut (4) 1" x 6" strips of paper, score down the center and used scalloped scissors on one edge. Use Perma Tac to adhere to the edge to the roof.


12.) Hot Glue pom-poms to the bottom of the house.

13.) Hot Glue flowers on the house and spool.


14.) Hot Glue a green baed and canvas ticket to the top of the skewer.

8.) Using Perma Tac, cover a 4" vintage spool.
9.) Insert skewer into spool and hot glue on the inside top and the inside of the bottom of the spool.
10.) Add hardware stickers for the door and knob.
11.) Cut (4) 1" x 6" strips, score in the center. Fold in half. Using Perma Tac, add to the outside of the house for trim.
12.) Hot Glue pom-poms to the bottom of the house.
13.) Hot Glue greenery and flowers on the house and spool.
14.) Hot Glue a green bead to the top of the skewer. Hot Glue canvas under the bead.

Glue Arts and Scor-Pal have teamed up and the Glue Arts Design Team has some fun projects on the blog!  I made a Star Album and have included a tutorial for you.
5.5" x 5.5" Star Album
Supplies:
Glue Glider Pro and Perma Tac, Glue Gun and Glue Sticks (Glue Arts). ScorPal, All About Me paper and embellishments (Webster's Pages), Medium Belgium Blue ColorMates (Worldwin), Red Chalk Ink, (Colorbox), Sheer Balck ribbon (May Arts), beads from old jewelry, chipboard



Instructions:
1. You'll need to cut (6) 5.75" x 11.5"solid cardstock.

(6) 5.75" x 8" print

(2) 6" x 6" print

(2) 5.75" x 5.75" print for the front and back cover.
(2) 5" x 5" pieces of chipboard. (These will be covered with the 6" x 6" print to make a center panel on the front and back of the album.


2.) Using ScorPal, score the 5.75" x 11" solids at 5.75". Score the 5.75" x 8" print at 4".




3.)Using Perma Tac and one solid and one print, adhere the ends together. Repeat this on the other 5 sets.


Use Perma Tac and adhere all these pages back to back.
4.) Using Glue Glider Pro and Perma Tac, adhere the 6" x 6" piece of print to the 5"x 5" pieces of chipboard. Fold edges over and adhere.



5.) Adhere the 5.75" x 5.75" print to the solid front and back covers.
6.) Adhere an 8" piece of ribbon to the back side of the chipboard.
7.) Center the covered chipboard and adhere to the center of the cover. Repeat this for the back.
8.) Decorate the cover and inner pages as desired.






5.) Using red ink, ink around the edges of the covered chipboard pieces.

Authentique Sketch Challenge

Hello friends!  I seldom do more than one post a day but I saw that Authentique was having a sketch challenge and decided that I really wanted to play :)  I made this little Halloween card for the card sketch.  I don't design for Authentique, but, I do love their paper lines.  I misted the little broom with Tiger Lily Glimmer Mist and held it all together with Glue Arts, hot glue gun, glue sticks and U-Cut It Foam.

Pinterest Inspiration with Glue Arts: A Glowing Halloween

Hello friends.  Julia, our Design Team Coordinator from Glue Arts gave us a fun challenge this week.  We found a picture on Pinterest that inspired us and then made our projects.  The wooden hinged box came from Hobby Lobby and I got it on sale for $3.50.  I decided to buy two and am glad I did because I  really like them!  Check out the Glue Arts Blog for some fun projects and inspiration.

Supplies:
Perma Tac, Glue Gun and Melt Sticks (Glue Arts), Paper, diecuts, stickers (Authentique), Chipboard (Heidi Swapp), Metal tag (Tim Holtz), ribbon, spider and ghosts (making memories), Orchid and Black paint (Plaid), Copper Embossing powder (Ranger), Clear Stamps (Crafty Secrets), wooden box with a hinged door (Hobby Lobby) Tiger Lily Glimmer Mist (Tattered Angels)

Instructions:
Start with a hinged, wooden box and paint the inside and outside with Wild Orchid and Black paint. Let dry. Mist with Tiger Lily Glimmer Mist

Using embossing powder and heat embossing tool, add some copper powder to random areas on the box.

Using a pigment pad and embossing powder, stamp a few areas of the box with text. Heat emboss.

Use Perma Tac and add paper to some of the inner boxes.
Using Glue Gun and Melt Sticks, glue ribbon in place.

Decorate inside as desired.
