Hello friends!   I wanted  to share my "Copper Kettle Time Machine"  The Copper Kettle Collection is one of my favorites and I love the rich earth-tone palette.  I've used Copper Kettle, Garden Bag o' Chips The beautiful gate is in this set),These are the best of times, Color vellum.  The paper mache books and clock mechanics can be purchased at Hobby Lobby.  I painted the paper mache book with black acrylic paint and then covered it with Copper Kettle papers.  I've heat embossed the gate using Gold Embossing Powder.  On the inside, I added the "Best of times" Vellum over the paper.  I've added some florals on the cover.

Necklace With Quick Quotes

Hello friends!  Today I wanted to share a fun, steampunk style necklace. I've used Maraschino Cherry Powder Puff Chalking Ink on the Chipboard Gears.  On the large gear, the ink was applied directly to the chipboard gear.  The small gear has been painted with White Gesso and then inked.  The paper that's used as a backdrop is Tin Type.

I bought a necklace kit and the chain at our local Dollar Store.  The large center piece of the necklace was part of the kit.  It's layered on the large gear and adhered with Quick Dry adhesive.  The small gear is layered on top of the center piece.  The little rust colored bulb was purchased in the Auto Department and I've wrapped silver wire around the base of the bulb.  Using the chain fron the original kit, I've added a layer of chain near the bottom of the necklace.

I decided to make a little chipboard house (Crafty Secrets) to celebrate!  I've embossed random areas with WOW! Embossing Powders.  Kuretake Purple Calligraphy Marker.

Snowflake Tutorial And Flower Frenzy

Hello friends!  I’m back to share the snowflake tutorial.  Here’s the  snowflakes I made.  These are SO EASY and have loads of dimension.  You can make them any size you’d like.  For my tutorial, I’ve used 6”x6” squares.
Start by cutting four squares.
DSC_0965
Fold the first square in half to make a triangle.
DSC_0966
Fold again to make a smaller triangle.
DSC_0967
Hold the triangle piece with the two folds in your left hand.
DSC_0968
Make 2 equal cuts just up to the fold, being careful not to cut through the fold.

Unfold.

Join the ends of the center piece and glue or tape.

Turn the square over and adhere the second piece.  Two of the pieces face the front, one faces the back.

Turn over and adhere the last two pieces.

Repeat this for the other four squares.

Assemble the snowflake by taping 2 ends together.  Turn and attach the other two ends.

Canvas Home Decor

EDITED:  Skip on over to Quick Quotes for the "Frame It" Challenge.  Because mine in a canvas, it has 2 inner frames and the is a frame that holds "remember" on the front cover.
Hello friends!  I've been busy working on some "fun" projects, ya know the  kind you can do 'just for fun'?  I'll have 21 projects at CHA this year so that was keeping me busy.  They're all done and in the mail.
I've been working on a canvas and because I had been gifted some Glimmer Glam in shades of purple and blue,I decided to make this fun canvas book.
I've added an extra layer of canvas to the cover and cut it a bit to expose some lace.  Heat embossed WOW Embossing Powder on parts of the canvas and on the edges of the canvas.  "Remember" and "These are the moments I want to remember" are Quick Quotes.  I've made little canvas straps for the canvas to open like a book.
Stamping and heat embossing on canvas with WOW Brocade Stamp and WOW powders.

Let It Snow!

Hello friends!  Here in Iowa, we usually have snow by now.  We had a "green" Christmas and there is not a snowflake to be seen.  I went to Twin Oaks, one of my favorite local scrapbook stores yesterday and the owner was busy making beautiful snowflakes.  She was kind enough to show me how.  These would be so cute hanging in a window or suspended from a ceiling.  I've used "Khaki Collection" by Quick Quotes on the small flake and a mix of Tumblebeasts and Quick Quotes on the large flake.  Before I assembled the snowflakes, I inked some ares and heat embossed with  Metallic Gold Rich Pale by Wow Embossing Powders.  Suzy West has her line of embossing powders and they will debut at CHA.
Can you see how dimensional these are?

I plan to do a tutorial soon.

Right now Kraft Outlet is having a giveaway.  Just grab some of your Kraft Outlet goodies and make whatever your heart desires fort the Make It Monday Challenge.  Someone will win a $15.00 gift voucher!  The designers have some cute projects on the blog if you’re in need of some inspiration.

I used my Accucut Shadowbox Die and cut out the center panels.  Sewed the two sides together to make a tag.  I kept the top open so a gift card could easily be tucked inside.  Paper is Authentique and the sweet image is Crafty Secrets.  Baker's Twine is Really Reasonable Ribbon.
