Altered Eclectic Reader
Supplies:
Vintage Eclectic Reader, Multi Medium Matte (Claudine Hellmuth), Gold, Bronze and Copper Perfect Pearls (Ranger), Cardboard Gear and bottle cap (Basically Bare), Gold embossing powder (Stampendous), Heat Embossing Tool (Paper Studio), Hot Glue Gun and Melt Sticks (Glue Arts), Butterfly image (Crafty Secrets), Gnome image (Altered Artifacts), Ink (Memento), Elmer’s Glue, Vintage key, Vintage letter stamps and game pieces.
Instructions:
Step 1- Start with a cardboard gear.
Step 2- Gather paintbrush, multi medium and bronze, copper and gold Perfect Pearls.
Step3- Place a dab of multi medium (about the size of a penny) on scrap paper.
Step 4- Add a sprinkle of bronze Perfect Pearls onto the multi medium and mix with a paintbrush.
Step 5- Using the paintbrush, dab the bronze mixture on different parts of the gear.
Step 6- Repeat steps 4 and 5 for the gold and copper colors.
Step 7- Sprinkle gold embossing powder on the gear while the mixture is still wet.
Step 8- Heat emboss.
Step 9- Gather the bottle cap and add a thin layer of Elmer’s glue to the inside. Sprinkle gold embossing powder on the inside and heat emboss.
Step 10- Using black ink, stamp letters on the vintage game pieces.
Step 11- Hot glue the stamped game piece in the center of the bottle cap.
Step 12- Cut out gnome image.
Step 13- Hot glue gnome image to the left side of the gear.
Step 14- Hot glue LIFE game pieces to the bottom of the gear
Step 15- Hot glue the back of the gear and press on to the book.
Step 16- Hot glue DIG near the top of the book.
Step 17- Cut out the butterfly image and add copper glitter to the wings.
Step 18- Hot glue the butterfly to a vintage key.
Step 19- Hot glue the key to the right side of the gear.
