A Proper Gentleman's Old Fashioned Main Street

Hello friends!  Wishing you all a Happy New Year and hoping all your dreams and goals come true in 2013!  I'm not sure if we'll be celebrating or staying home this year.  Most years we have stayed home tocelebrate the birthday of our youngest, Zach. who will be 16.  We adopted Zach and his three siblings, Marnie, Ernie and Kim when Zach was two.  Marnie and Ernie are off to college, Kim and Zach are the only kiddo's living at home.  I'm looking forward to being empty nesters in a few years :)
The Angela Holt Designs Creative Design Team has been working with on some awesome projects that are sure to inspire you.  Guess who the sponsor is for our first projects?  Graphic 45!  My favorite company and we'll be using their products through January!  Woot!
I have several projects completed that I'll start sharing on the 1st of January.  The official Blog Hop starts on January 7th! I made an extra so I could get you all in the mood for some Graphic 45 goodness!  Stop in tomorrow for a look at my house with working lights and " A Ladies' Diary" paper line.

I've used "A Proper Gentleman" by Graphic 45" and have used wooden houses to build an old fashioned main street.  The windows are Retro Cafe Art and I've embellished with some Tim Holtz.

Sure hoping that you'll join us for the Blog Hop!
HAPPY 2013!

Sleigh Rides

Hello friends!  I've been wanting to make a sleigh and when I saw the Nutcracker Sweet Collection by Graphic 45, I knew it would be perfect for my design.  I made a pattern and cut the medium weight chipboard with a craft knife.  I cut the Nutcracker Sweet papers and used my craft knife to cut close to the chipboard.
I've added some embossed Chipboard, Tim Holtz labels and Rosette die, Graphic 45 Metal Brads and Graphic 45 packaging on the mini.
Worldwin ColorMates were used on the inside of the sleigh.

Label close up, embossed with WOW! Gold embossing powder.
Also used are Purple and Red Embossing Powder.

If you save the packaging with the acetate, it makes for a great little shaker.  I used tiny Jingle Bells inside the acetate for the cover of my mini.

Tim Holtz Gears and 7 gypsies Metal corners.

Really Reasonable Ribbon Seam Binding.
Snowflake die is Spellbinder's and I've cut them out of a white foam sheet and applied glitter.  The scalloped top is an Accucut die.

Japanese Luminary

Hello friends!  Today I'm a guest at US Art Quest!  Have you tried their products?  They are so versatile and can be used in altered art, mixed media, home decor and paper crafts!  Here's a copy and paste from the US Art Quest blog.

Today, it’s all about mica, and I’ve used a MICACRAFT sheet and MICACOLOR Watercolor Palettes.  I coated my project with a generous layer of Antique Copper.  Talk about a great way to add a splash of elegant color to your projects! Papers are BIRDSONG collection from Graphic 45.

Nutcracker Sweet: White Christmas Challenge

Hello friends!  I shared a much larger Ice House a couple days ago and wanted to show you a smaller version today.   I am entering the little cutie in the "Berry71 Bleu" White Christmas challenge. The papers are Graphic 45, Nutcracker Sweet Collection.  The Gingerbread House is an Accuct die.  With the die, because it  is a "Build an Album",  there are no sides or the roof, so I simply cut the needed size and PRESTO :)
I've used Beacon Glass, Metal and more adhesive and ordered the polyester sheets through Dick Blick Art Studio.

Nutcracker Sweet Ice House

Hello friends!  I have been busy as a little beaver making projects and here is one I recently made of acetate, or clear polyester sheets.  It's important to use an adhesive that is made for glass and it is a slow process, as each joint has to dry completely, without slipping so you don't get the adhesive in areas you don't want it.  I used Beacon glass, metal and more adhesive.  I used an x-acto knife to do my cutting.
Graphic 45 has their December Contest going on and you'll need to use their Nutcracker Sweet Collection. Spellbinder's has Explore Beyond:  Craft to WIN contest, so this is my project for Graphic 45 and Spellbinder's.  I've used Spellbinder's Snowflake dies (now retired) and Labels 10 die.  I used an Accucut Gingerbread House die on the polyester sheet to impress the house image so I could cut it to a larger size'
